Berlin metro twin multiple units F74/76/79

Delivery: 2011-2020

Berliner Verkehrsbetriebe (BVG) operates e.g. 100 twin multiple units of the types F74, F76 and F79 manufactured between 1974 and 1980 in its metro network. Whereas the basic structure of these vehicles is still very good, the electronic components increasingly had obsolescence problems.

The modernisation concept developed together with the BVG includes replacement of the traction control, which consists of the traction control device ASG 100 controlling the existing switchgroup, an impulse device exciting the electrodynamic brake and two brake setpoint generators converting the set point of the master controller.

The heating control of the passenger compartment, the heating in the driver’s cab and the static on-board converter for DC 110 V are also renewed. Moreover, an efficient diagnostic support system is implemented, and Vossloh Kiepe is also responsible for the renewal of the compressed air system together with a partner.
